#2,454 The New Bathroom.

The master bathroom renovation has been a journey to say the least. Demo began on June 28 and the bathroom interior was complete yesterday, October 9, when the shower glass was installed, though that hasn’t stopped us from loving using it since the day the plumbing fixtures went in a couple weeks ago. We’ve wanted a separate tub and walk-in shower for so long, I guess since Ben destroyed his ankle way back in 2010 when he realized how tricky it is getting in a tub when you’re his size and injured. It’s going to be something we’re glad we did […]

#2,423 A Bath.

It’s dumb but I sorta feel like I might cry about how much I love our new bathroom. I want to show you everything but there are just a couple finishing touches left to do. In this season of life that’s so busy and intense, I can’t explain the joy of having this little paradise for a bath at the end of the day. The tub is a real showstopper. There will be a tour coming in the next few days!

#2,422 Tomorrow.

Tomorrow we will bring another family home for reveal #3. And tomorrow I just might be taking a bubble bath in our brand new bathroom for the first time. And I’m giddy beyond words. Fingers crossed!

The first coat of paint is done in the bathroom! Surely this means we will be done by the end of next week? I can’t wait to show you everything when it’s done!

#2,403 Floored Part 2.

The whole amazing, shiny floor is done and awaiting grout tomorrow!  And it felt like fall today, and since we had an hour of free time this afternoon I spent it productively: This is what the perfect day sounds like. 🌧🍂 A post shared by Erin Napier (@erinapier) on Aug 29, 2017 at 3:16pm PDT However: HGTV in Real Life: my house, a filthy construction zone that has taken over the carport, where we are having a very sexy bowl of chili, cheese, hot dogs and onions beside a pile of trash, a car battery charger and a toilet. #imkindaintoitanyway […]

#2,402 Floored Part 1.

The shower has a floor! And it is very pretty and shiny! And I can’t stop tip toeing in there to look at it! There’s still a good bit of work left to be done on the bathroom before we can move in, but this is a great start to bringing in the pretty!   Also, it felt legit fallish today. The high stuck around the 70s and a drizzle fell all day keeping the heat at bay with overcast clouds so low they felt like you could touch them. And I loved it. Even from the dirty woodshop dock […]

#2,399 Greens.

I’m going through a little indecision with our bathroom renovation paint. I know for sure I want a dramatic, deep and moody green that’s appropriate for our 1920s home, that talks with the carrara marble, antique waxed pine and mosaic tile with black accents and brushes brass Art Deco meets modern fixtures. But every one I’ve tried feels too olive or too hunter or too… Something. I’ve narrowed it down to these two swatches and I’m so excited we are this close to the finish line, I’ll count this indecision a blessing.

#2,396 Bathroom Progress.

Our bathroom has been totally inaccessible from inside the house for 2 months but last week the new doorway into our bedroom was created and tile is coming in! Here’s a tiny sneak peek: I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about where I will put towel bars and plug ins. Things that never worry me  about the ten other houses we have underway at any given time. I guess that’s an occupational hazard these days.

#2,394 Vanities.

On our last trip to Mobile when mama went along with us, we picked up 2 antique pine dressers with the intent to modify them to size for our bathroom vanities. With the renovation nearing the end(ish), we spent yesterday and this afternoon working on them. The guy on the left was 3″ too tall for a sink and the guy on the right was 6″ too short for a makeup counter: But now, they’re exactly the perfect height at 34″, ready for a 1″ slab of cool, creamy white marble and 1920s glass knobs. I’m in love.
