#865 Water for Elephants.

Just as we were getting ready to turn in for bed we found Water for Elephants was just coming on. It’s one of my favorite books I’ve ever read, and the movie came close to portraying the book with the same color and magic in the theatre and I’ve been wanting to see it again. We settled into the couch together with sleepy eyes and became too involved in the story to turn it off. With 2 of the living room sconces glowing dimly and my favorite cable knit blanket wrapped around us, it felt like this is really becoming our home.

I’m feeling very sleepy now so I’m going to go on to bed now.

Well, maybe I’ll finish the movie first.

  1. I actually was really disappointed with that movie. I'm not usually very picky when it comes to movie translations of books (I know changes must be made for the screen), but I really felt like they missed the mark on this one. 🙁

Good to hear y'all are settling in. Gotta love wrapping up in a blanket on the couch to watch a good movie with the hubs. 🙂

  2. You know, when I first saw it in the theater I hated it. HATED IT. I thought it just fell flat compared to the way it was written. But I wanted to rewatch it to see if I still felt the same and since it's now been a few years since I read it, the movie seemed much better. Maybe you need a rewatch? Though it was obvious they cast ole vampire boy because of his insane popularity, not because he'd be a great Jacob.

Anyway, it was better the second go-round. 🙂
