#851 Cut it Off.

I started growing my hair out in August 2010 after watching Vicky Cristina Barcelona and feeling so envious of their long, wavy hair. It was nearly as long as it was in high school when I woke up this morning, but for a month or so now I’ve not been feeling like myself with it. I felt too thrown away—never fixing it, always wearing a ponytail. So I got back to the old me and I feel like a new person.

I think I’m gonna cut it even a little more!

  1. Hi Erin,
I'm a brand new reader, and at the bottom of your newest post, was this "you might also like" post. So I clicked on it because last night I also chopped off about 4" of my hair. I've tried to be a long-haired girl, but I just can't do it. It isn't me. So anyway, I suppose it's slightly creepy to be posting on a two year old story…but I found myself identifying so strongly! I love short curly hair! You definitely rock yours. I am loving feeling like a new/old me with my short curls back today too. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your blog!

    • Hi Linley! How the heck did you find me here? I'm glad you did! I cut it from the middle of my back to a pixie cut the week I started college in 2003 and this post was the day after I attempted growing it out in 2011-2012. It was still so long after this cut! I only feel like myself the way it was in college and the way it is now. Super short. 🙂 I wish more folks would try it!
