#848 Napier Easter.

Since Ben’s family live at least 2 hours away in every direction and his parents are ministers, we had a big Easter celebration today to introduce everyone to our new home, but we were all sad that Ben’s daddy woke up sick this morning and thought it best to stay home. Jookie—show him the post and it’ll be just like he was here.

I’ve never felt quite this tired in my life after such a huge week in our lives, so I will let the photos do the talking and I’ll keep the writing to a minimum.

I can summarize today by telling you it was spectacularly beautiful outside—breezy, not hot and not cold, though when we woke up this morning it felt chilly enough to turn on the fire and open the French doors to the front porch. It was heavenly to have my breakfast in flannel pajamas in adirondack chairs on the porch while the sunshine was burning off the fog. Before long, our family began arriving!

Harper, our niece, was the star of the show!
After a cookout (grilled chicken, sausage, roasted vegetables and macaroni and cheese), we took a long walk around the neighborhood, the boys made a quick stop for a swim at Mickey’s, then us girls went back to the house and set up an ice cream sundae bar on the front porch.

Whew! I look so tired. A week of little sleep is catching up with me.

We couldn’t have asked for a more picture perfect day. It was one of those days when you can feel so obviously that God loves us. Fitting for Easter weekend, right?
