#839 Remodel Contest.

We’re entering a kitchen remodel contest by This Old House and today I took photos for the entry. It’s completely finished (with the exception of hanging our new Walter Anderson prints), and it’s astounding how different it is from the before photos. Ready? Here we go!

For you who didn’t already read about it, all of the cabinet hardware is vintage mismatched from an architectural salvage shop in Boston on our trip last fall. This might be my favorite thing about the kitchen.

Maybe we’ll win a shiny new truck or some money, but probably not. It doesn’t matter. This was so much fun from beginning to end. Except scraping that popcorn ceiling.

  1. UN-believable! Not ONE detail overlooked…literally, right down to the floor (rug!) White Kitchen-Aid, of course LOL. Congratulations on a JOB.WELL.DONE! Can't wait to see what's next! -Jimmy B.

  2. Awww thank you SO much, Jimmy! It was all thrifty! The rug was $8 at a flea market, the KitchenAid mixer was a gift from a friend. I'll see you next time I'm in Dillard's!
