#756 Martha, Again.

It means almost nothing, and it’s not a big deal, but seeing your name in print in a magazine with this many readers makes you feel like the world is a tiny place. As if everyone who reads it knows that my husband’s name is Ben and my favorite food is cheese, and I call my parents mama and daddy. It’s as normal as finding your own name in your church bulletin or the town newspaper—as if the publication became small and local, because I am not a big deal so surely it musn’t be either.

And then you realize, it’s not like that. And it’s exciting and wonderful and frightening.
