Never have I ever made one before, but tonight I got a hankering after hearing mammaw talk about her pecan trees and how great my mama’s pies are. Annalee and I used mama’s delicious recipe but we used margarine because we didn’t have butter.
They went in looking just perfect and came out looking (and smelling) delicious.
Sadly, they didn’t set up like they were supposed to and I’m thinking the margarine could’ve been the culprit, though that’s unconfirmed.
Either way, we ate some of the candied pecans off the top and I’m proud that I learned a new recipe. Fall is coming!
