#2,467 Wichita Falls.

I’ve never in my life been to this part of Texas and today we were welcomed with open arms by the Wichita Heritage Society to the Top of Texas antiques and art market where we are speaking tomorrow. We felt so at home right away, hearing these good people tell us the stories of how they’re working to revitalize their town. In each impassioned person we met, I recognized our own Laurel Main Street tribe: the dedicated and harried executive director, the board members, all volunteers, who are bankers and architects and ministers and investors restoring one historic building at a time. It feels good to be with people who care about the same things we care about, who remind us for the world of our Laurel family who are fighting to turn the tide for our city’s future. What a blessing it will be to spend the weekend learning from each other!
