#2,315 Ouida Wagoneer.

This was me (and my very long hair and my cousin Kelsa) when I was in 11th grade:

I worked at Signature Coffee House where I also played my guitar and sang on Thursday nights and saved up all my money to buy a nice Canon SLR camera. I got black and white film and took photos like this and fancied myself a real true blue artist (haha!):

I also took this photo at a used car lot where the Smokehouse BBQ joint now stands, and I had the film developed and scrawled on the back “my ride.”

On this same roll of film, I took photos of our house! It was my favorite one in the whole city, and I daydreamed about living here one day… But I can’t put my hands on that photo at the moment. BUT, what I’m saying here is, I had my heart set on it… Someday. Well, we found her twin sister for a bargain up in Tennessee, with worn out leather seats and a sunroof that’s not quite in working order, and I am so excited to get started restoring and loving her, I could bust. We’ve named her Ouida, after my grandmother, who is also one fabulous and tough lady.

Ben drove her all the way home from Nashville without a single hickup. The engine is rock solid and the AC blows ice cold. We can work with that! Claude have mercy it’s easy to make your dreams come true when the things you love don’t cost much money, just a little elbow grease and determination on craigslist. Stay tuned as we bring her up to speed!
