#2,285 Bird Nests.

With Easter 2 sleeps away, I’ve had something from childhood on my mind all day that I remember from a party in elementary school. Someone’s mama, maybe mine, brought these candies that were delicious little bird nests with candy eggs nestled on top. I posted about it on facebook, and lots of people told me they made something like that called haystacks, but it involved butterscotch and/or peanut butter and I knew that wasn’t in there because these looked kind of frosted in white. I did some googling and found the recipe I recalled, except I added one extra ingredient to make them what I think they were like in 2nd grade. This is so super easy, just like Rice Krispy Treats, and I plan to make them every year for the rest of my Easters. You’re gonna want to pin this one.

1 bag of chow mein noodles
half a stick of light butter
3 cups of mini marshmallows
3/4 cup white chocolate morsels
Cadbury mini eggs

Melt the butter on medium heat in a big pot, add marshmallows and white chocolate, stirring constantly. While the marshmallows are still lumpy but melted, remove from heat and stir in the bag of chow mein noodles. Drop spoonfuls onto waxed paper and gently press a couple or 3 Cadbury eggs on top. Stick in the freezer for a few minutes to firm, then remove from freezer and serve.
