#2,173 B95 + Mrs. Marty + Fireside.

It was an early morning, up and at em at B95, the local country radio station because they wanted Ben to come on and hang out for a minute. There was talk about the Duluth Trading stuff, the new website, and some ambiguous answers regarding The Very Big Super Top Secret thing we’ve been keeping under our hats since the beginning of the year. You thought I had forgotten about explaining the weirdly vague spring and summer blogs, didn’t you!  Laurel folks mostly know what’s up, which is an unfair advantage over you out-of-towners, but we’re so very close to being able to tell you everything. Soooooon!

Afterward we went home and changed clothes to go to Josh’s sweet little mama’s funeral. Alzheimer’s stole away so much of her personality and quality of life, and today seemed like a great release for Josh and his daddy who have cared so diligently and lovingly all these years. She was such a remarkable woman, a loving mother who couldn’t have children of her own so they took in Josh as a foster child at 3 years old and never let him go. Mrs. Marty and Josh had such an incredibly close mother-son bond. They always will, regardless of her physical presence. Afterward we had a big dinner at Josh and Em’s house where I got to see Michelle, who knows Ms. Mary who reads my posts most days:

And tonight we found ourselves fireside at Jim and Mallorie’s with our friends Joey, Sarah and Daniel who are all home for the Christmas festivities in Laurel this weekend. Mmmmm… So cozy!
