#2,106 Sunday Church.

We woke up extra early this morning to make the longish drive to the little Methodist church in Tishomingo County where Ben’s daddy is preaching on Sunday mornings. Though he’s semi-retired these days, he was happy when the district asked him to step in at this church this summer. He’s always thrived at small country churches, and it makes my heart sing to hear him preach.

It’s a wonderful father-in-law I’ve got. I love that if boys become their fathers, I have that kind of wisdom, strength and kindness to look forward to as Ben ages.

Then we spent the day driving back to Laurel in the rain. All 3+ hours of it. Which, honestly, when it’s without hurry and David Gray is on the radio, I absolutely love.
