You know by now that the July 3rd tradition in Laurel is the city fireworks show and cookout on the lawn at our church.
I’ve documented it well over the last 5 years. But tonight… Tonight was extra special because it was John Walker’s very first time to watch fireworks.
Seeing him tonight broke my heart because it’s so obvious that he’s growing up. I can easily see the young man in his little face already, and that’s wild isn’t it?
And then the big show started.
And then I remembered how very little he still is, because it frightened him and he clung to his mama, listening but not looking at it.
And GOSH I’m glad he’s not a big boy just yet. There’s still a lot of snuggling left to do.
