#1,918 Gifts.

This is a list of all the gifts today gave us.
Like capturing the sweet toddler train from the Presbyterian daycare taking their morning walk:

Like the incredible handmade Field Notes wallet and keyfob that Chad gave to Ben. He’s starting a new company making these beautiful leather goods:

The aquamarine and gold birthstone ring my grandfather gave Mammaw on their 2nd anniversary in 1949, that Mammaw has now given to me. Today I picked it up at the jeweler who shined it up and fixed the loose setting. I nearly cried when he handed it to me and I slipped it on my finger. I can’t stand to take it off, even to sleep, because it’s like having them both with me. A tiny hug from the two of them. Pappaw couldn’t have chosen a prettier ring.

The weather is right. It was time to switch from my 2000 Beetle to my 1971 Beetle. We drove on country roads to see mama and daddy.

And I thought to myself today that life is very, very good. Our Father gave us a beautiful gift in springtime, didn’t he?

  1. Those toddlers are adorable! That ring is breathtakingly gorgeous – your Mammaw must love you hugely to gift that to you. And Spring always makes me long for citytrips, roadtrips, any trip at all. We just booked a trip to Disneyland (again) and splurged on a stay in the Disneyland Hotel (huge discounts right now) – I'm already counting down to October.

I'd say you also have a huge gift to appreciate both small and big things. Not everyone can see the good things every single day.

  2. That ring is absolutely gorgeous. What a lovely keepsake to have. Your grandfather had good taste!

I just love the last photo. It just looks so warm and calm – looking forward to spring making it's way back here too soon.

  3. The ring is beautiful! What an honor to be given something so special. I am so jealous of your beautiful weather. We were hit with 2 snowstorms back to back, so here we are on the first day of spring with 3 feet of snow in my yard. It will come though.

  4. The children are precious! Put a smile on my face as I remember those days with much fondness! And – that ring! It is a beauty for sure!

The last picture is so beautiful. Makes me long for spring temperatures. Soon, right? (fingers crossed)
