#1,858 Sunday Sabbath.

Since Ben left ministry as a career, I’ve found Sunday to finally be a real, honest-to-goodness Sabbath for us and it’s amazing. The respite at the beginning of the week. For the last 10 years it was so busy. It wasn’t like your Sunday. It was a work day. But now… it looks like this.

We walked to church in the warm, breezy sunshine. We got to church and discovered that it was apparently Wear Your Camel Hair Jacket Day.

After lunch, we took a long walk with the dogs. Then we hung out on the porch the rest of the day, me doing another house portrait, Ben reading in a chair then eventually winding up on the porch bed asleep.

Tonight, our neighbors/friends/mentors Whitney and Stacey came over for a while. And at this juncture in my life, I couldn’t be more thankful for God keeping such knowledgeable, proactive, well-connected people hedged all around us in every direction. It’s going to take every one of them to help us figure out the steps ahead of us. She’s encouraged me to start journaling about everything that’s happened since last summer (so much!) that I can’t write about publicly, and I think that’s a fine idea. I just might pick it up.

I hope your Sunday was a quiet and lovely one, too.
