#1,508 Technology.

Because of my job, I use email and Skype to talk to folks all around the world. Every now and then, clients become friends and our conversations turn from work to fun, and today I was lucky enough to have 2 of those conversations at the same time.

Piril is a current client who lives in London and is getting married in Turkey, and we’re working on a fully custom invitation suite for her wedding. One thing led to another and we were talking about Ben and I planning our trip to Italy, which she happens to be very familiar with. She and her fiance go there all the time since it’s a 2 hour trip for them—and she had all kinds of great suggestions for our trip.

And Jessica is a former client, whom we got to meet on our trip to Charleston a couple years ago, though she and Shawn are living in New York now. But today she told me they’re headed back south to Charleston! Hooray for closer friends! And grilled cheese sandwiches!

Anyway. It’s hard to wrap my brain around the fact that a girl in a tiny town in Mississippi can connect with people in New York and London as if time and distance are fluid, unimportant factors of friendships. Isn’t it kind of crazy living in the future?

  1. It's the same with blogging-you feel like you know your fellow bloggers because we get to peek into their homes and lives a bit and we gravitate to those that we have something in common with. I started loving blogs since I am addicted to interior design, cooking, gardening, books, etc. You get a lot of great ideas from blogs and don't even get me started on Pinterest.
Yes, start planning that Italy trip. Can't wait to see pictures you post! Hope you're staying warm.

  2. I agree with Pat in Chicago!

I talk about my blogging 'friends" like I just had lunch with them. Funny because my husband will ask how I know you and I tell him, 'from the blog, of course' – duh! 😉

Love how this world gets a bit friendly via technology!

    Enjoy your weekend!
