#1,353 Luau.

Tonight at the church we had a big end of the summer luau and I had no idea they’d go so hardcore. There was a dang roasted pig fresh off the fire laid out on the serving line, for starters:

I haven’t seen a whole roasted pig since I went to the Ole Miss vs. Arkansas game in 2008.

There were also leis, grass skirts, the Blue Hawaii soundtrack, limbo, hula dancing, and karaoke.

Holler, summer!

Wait, do y’all say “holler” where you live?  It’s another way of saying “see you later” round these parts.

I’m not really a redneck, I just play one on my blog.

  1. My fav part of this post, besides the Razorback comment, is the fact that y'all were listening to the Blue Hawaii soundtrack. Priceless.
One of my all time favorite Elvis movies. Might have to see if my Mom can dig out her VHS copy, or maybe I will upgrade and find the dvd on Amazon. 🙂

  2. Nancy, it's a young person thing. I've never heard anyone say "holler" for goodbye except kids who were more or less kidding. I failed to say that I'm a Mississippian, too, like our favorite blogger.
PS I'm having to post as "anonymous" because I don't know how to do it any other way. Electronics and old people….need I say more.
